Many companies run line-of-business web apps that are expensive to host, hard to secure, and understood by one person. Replacing them usually means choosing between a rigid SaaS product or a custom build on cloud infrastructure you must run yourself.
The middle path
Power Pages works as a hybrid: you define the UI and the data, while Microsoft handles hosting, scaling and security. For teams already on Microsoft 365, it runs on licenses and sign-in you already manage.
Good fits
- Customer, partner or vendor portals with sign-in.
- Application, request and intake forms that feed an internal process.
- Old ASP.NET or PHP apps that only exist to read and write business records.
How we move it
- Start with a working screen on sample data, usually in the first week.
- Move the data into Dataverse and connect flows in Power Automate.
- Ship through a pipeline with your approval, then retire the old server.
